Speak Up Oxfordshire

We are small friendly club where you can practice your speaking skills and overcome any fear of standing in front of an audience.
We love having guests come and join us, to find out how as a member you could reap all the benefits of Toastmasters membership, such as impromptu speaking, presenting, evaluations, and many more.
We meet on twice a month, on the first and third Wednesday evenings, at 7.15 pm to meet, greet and chat. We'll start the meeting itself at 7.30 pm, and you can sit back, and see and hear how the meeting works, and how the Toastmasters education program can be tailored to your own objectives and needs. There will be all the usual elements of a Toastmasters meeting, with prepared speeches with evaluations, and a section where we work on impromptu skills- perfect for job interviews, elevator pitches or just social situations.

Many people cite public speaking as one of their biggest fears. Yet we all know that we must be able to communicate effectively with others to grow personally and professionally.

The Oxford Orators Club is a local affiliation of Toastmasters International-- an organisation that has been helping public speakers for almost a century.

Every first and third Tuesday of each month, Oxford Orators meet together in the picturesque Court Room at Oxford City Hall in the centre of Oxford. We'll provide a supportive environment in which to practise and perfect speaking in public.

Whether you are a seasoned public speaker and want to hone your skills or you are an extreme introvert who wants to get over your fear of speaking-- we believe Oxford Orators can help you.

What to Expect:
The meeting room will be open at 6.30, for people to gather, introduce themselves informally before the proceedings start, and to sort out technicalities. Each meeting will begin with the impromptu speaking session, "Table Topics" and is followed (after a break) with prepared speeches by club members. All speeches are evaluated and we vote for the best speakers of the evening. We finish by 8.45 pm.

You only need to bring yourself.
